ADVANCED MARKETING MANAGEMENT
The Westfield High School store is a retail lab run by the members of the Advanced Marketing Management class. The store offers a wide selection
of school supplies, WHS items such as stadium cushons, mugs, hats, visors, folders, pens, pencils, lanyards, pins, pennants, and a limited variety
of clothing.
The store is open to students, faculty, administration, staff, and parents during the 3 lunches of E period everyday. It is conveniently located in the
rear of the Westfield High School cafeteria, the site of numerous special promotions in which the Marketing students participate during the academic
year.
The school store gives students the opprotunity for hands-on experience in applying effective Marketing concepts discussed in the Marketing course
taken the previous year. This retail experience builds skills which are frequently utilized by the students in part-time jobs outside of school.
As the store is a student directed lab, the Advanced Marketing Management students are responsible for facilitating the daily tasks involved in
its operation. Other duty assignments are scheduled on a term-by-term basis. These duties consist of jobs related to ordering and inventory control,
employee scheduling, making deposits, etc. In addition, senior Advanced Marketing sudents lead various activities and community service projects
being promoted during the 3 lunches. Projects of this nature often include flower sales, collection of money for non-profit organizations, and raffle
ticket sales.
The course is half year, half credit ellective offering taught by Ms. Ryan.
