South Middle School is a child centered school that strives to foster the aspirations and dreams of young adolescents. We provide a balanced academic and extra-curricular program to meet the physical, social, emotional, and academic needs of our students. As a student, you will be encouraged to set goals, be independent and self-directed. You can expect to be treated fairly, and provided a safe learning environment built on mutual respect. You will be challenged to reach your greatest potential so that you will be a productive, creative, and responsible member of society and be prepared for today's ever-changing world.

South Middle School offers a wide variety of after-school and co-curricular activities throughout the year. These activities range from our Drama Club and Intramural program to student leadership programs such as Peer Mentoring, Student Council, and Peer Mediation. We encourage to you participate in these programs and enjoy the benefits of being involved. Our school’s Library/Media Center is open after school on Tuesday and Thursday until 3:30.

It is important for families to know what goes on at South Middle School. We encourage a firm avenue of communication between school and home. We invite parents/guardians to become involved in your child's education. You may want to join the Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee or run for a seat on our School Council. You may wish to help out with a school activity or volunteer in the school library. Your involvement in any way is important to your child's education. Parents/guardians are always welcome at South Middle school.
