Thursday, March 11, 2010 Day 116 F Day

 

Drama practice for this week is in the auditorium until 4:00. Today - Act 1, Scene 5, Act 2, Scene 4, Friday - Entire cast - opening and closing numbers. At this point NO ONE should be missing practice - we only have 2 weeks until the show...see Mrs. Shibley if you have any questions.

Today's basketball practice will be for 7th and 8th graders only.

All student council members not in drama should make sure to attend a meeting on Thursday 3/18 @ 2:30 in room 236. Many important events need to be planned for.

The Baking Club will meet Tuesday in room 212. Please let Mrs. Curto know if you plan on attending.

Interested in participating in the North/South game, but basketball isn’t your thing? How about cheering your fellow South-ies on? If interested in becoming a cheerleader for the North/South game, meet in room 108 Thursday after school for a brief informational meeting.

There will be a Jewelry Workshop on Monday 3/15 after school from 2:30 – 4PM for any SMS students who would like to attend. In this one day workshop you will make a necklace or bracelet. All materials will be supplied. Homeroom Teachers have sign-up forms. Please bring the permission slip home, have your parents sign it and return it to your homeroom teacher.

It's that time of year again. Time to clean off your shelves of gently used books and give them to the Book Swap. Please drop books in the library. In exchange you will get a coupon to get more books. We especially need chapter books. The swap is March 27th 9-11:00. Come early stay late. Volunteers are needed please see Mrs. Streeter in the library.

Attention Artists and Writers: The Literary Magazine cover contest deadline is Friday, March 26th. Don't forget to bring your cover contest submission to Mrs. Plante in Room 100 on plain white paper. Also, please submit all other writing and illustrations by April 16th.

March Mathness Questions: How many faces are there on the new disco ball in the cafeteria? Draw a reflection diagram of the first floor of our school.

Don’t forget the next turn in date for TTRR is next Monday 3/15. Get your new reading logs in to earn your prizes.
