Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Welcome to Paper Mill Elementary School. Our school is one of the newest
and largest elementary schools in the city, educating more than 425
students in grades K-5. In addition to 20 regular classrooms, there
are two resource rooms and four special education classrooms that serve
students from across the city. Nestled among playing fields and residential
neighborhoods, we are adjacent to the park on Paper Mill Road in the
northeast corner of the city.
When you enter our school, you will see students actively engaged in
their learning, staff members collaborating to enhance their practice,
and parents supporting the educational program with their involvement.
The Paper Mill School community is a strong one, effectively bridging
the home-school connection in order to allow students to reach their
fullest potential.
You will experience students practicing character traits such as honesty,
respect, and responsibility. Through a program of character education,
the social curriculum is joined with the academic to support the development
of the whole child. You will know you are in a special place.
The Westfield Public School curriculum is challenging, and our teachers
are dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners through differentiation
of instruction. By holding students to high standards and providing
opportunities for enrichment, we prepare our students for success as
they meet the challenges of their school years and beyond.
I encourage you to visit our school. I am sure that if you spend some
time with us, you will agree that Paper Mill Elementary is a wonderful
place to learn.
Sincerely,
Susan E. Dargie

Meet our
Vice Principal
Dear Families,
Here at Paper Mill Elementary School the faculty and staff strive to
create an environment which allows your child to grow emotionally and
socially, as well as intellectually. I am very happy to have joined
in this effort and become part of a dedicated group of educators.
As a long time Westfield
resident I am excited to join the Westfield Public Schools and work
to help my community. I know, as do many of you, that Westfield is a
great place to live and raise a family. Part of the reason for this
is the school system. Paper Mill is certainly an example of what happens
when caring people work together to foster a positive environment for
children.
I personally encourage
you to visit us here at Paper Mill School. It is a wonderful place to
work and to learn, and it is part of a fantastic community of caring
people.
Sincerely,
Erin Fahey Carrier
Assistant Principal
