It is the vision of North Middle School that all students will be prepared for secondary education as independent and successful learners. To foster this development, NMS will provide students a safe environment built on mutual respect.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of North Middle School is to provide the highest-quality learning environment possible for adolescent children within a middle school format, inclusive of students, staff and parents. NMS’s atmosphere is built on mutual support, respect, and consideration for the rights of others.

CORE VALUES

These core values lay the foundation for the development and implementation of student-centered course offerings and co-curricular programs at North Middle School. Moreover, these core values define who we are and what we are about.

At North Middle School, we believe that:
1. Our primary focus is teaching and learning.
2. All students can and will learn.
3. Our environment must be conducive to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of early adolescent children.
4. Children and adults are more productive in an environment based on mutual respect, an understanding of others, and acceptance of individual differences.
5. Parents/families are our partners in their children’s education.
6. The application of current technologies should enhance teaching and learning.
7. Learning and professional growth are life long processes.
8. Our educational programs should reinforce the basics acquired in elementary school and introduce students to academic and career choices they will have in the future.
