Grading Information

NMS grading system is designed to measure the level of students' attainment of our curricula objectives. The school year is divided into four marking terms. Strudents receive grades in each term for each course taken. Students receive a numerical grade of 50 and above, a P for passing or an E for grades of 49 and lower. A grade of 60 or above is conseidered passing. Our numerical grades represent the following level of acheivement:

  Demonstrated Partial Understanding of the Curriculum

  Failed to Demonstrate Curriculum Understanding
I = Incomplete
  M = Medical P = Pass

Grading Period

North Middle School operates on a 45-day marking period. Progress reports are given at the midpoint each term and a grade with comments is given at the end of each term.
Please Note: Due to snow days these following dates are subject to change

1st Marking Period
  August 28th - October 31st   Mid-term: September 29th
2nd Marking Period
  November 3rd - January 21st   Mid-term: Dec 9th
3rd Marking Period
  January 22nd - April 7th   Mid-term: March 5th
4th Marking Period
  April 8th - June 21th   Mid-term: May 15th
