Welcome to
Munger Hill
Elementary School

Our school, opened in 1991, is set in an attractive residential setting and serves a K-5 student population of 400+ students. The energies and activities of our teachers and parent-teacher organization are directed toward developing a school that fulfills our vision of developing responsible, independent learners.

A major feature of our approach is the incorporation of the psychological learning principles of Dr. William Glasser espoused in his work, Quality Schools. Central to his thinking is the idea that students must connect with the idea that school is a place where they can meet their needs in a manner that will help them reach their potential as people and learners.

Munger Hill Elementary School utilizes a self-contained organization at all grade levels. Music, Art, Physical Education, Health and Science support services are deliver weekly in a 40 minute period. Students attend school from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Currently, Westfield's elementary schools are benefiting from a newly revised curriculum in the subject areas of language arts, math and science. These curricula were designed to deliver the newly developed Massachusetts learning standards.
