Kids Caring For Kids

At Highland School, our classrooms have been working very hard to help instill the values of kindness, giving, and caring for one another!

Grades K-5: Pennies for Patients

All students are currently collecting any coins and returning them to school. There is a large jar down by the main office and the goal is to try and fill this big water jug. The students from Ms. Bronson's class are counting and rolling the coins that will then go to the Leukemia Society. Thank you for your support! We will post our results and the end of the drive.

Grade 2

Some of the second graders did chores around the house to earn money for needy families. The students then counted the coins and money as part of their math lesson. A few students went shopping for a few young kids using the collected funds. The second graders then wrapped the gifts! What a wonderful experience for these students to be a part of!

Grade 3

This third grade class organized and collected over 13 boxes of food. These huge boxes of food were then delivered to a few families. That's a lot of work for just one class. Pretty impressive!

Grade 5

This fifth grade class organized and is collecting hats, mittens, gloves, and scarfs for those cold winter days. There are many families that are in need of these items, so these students are collecting these items all winter long. The tree is located in the lobby by the main office. Nice job fifth graders!
