Mrs. Fucci

All about Mrs. Fucci:

I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to second grade and to introduce myself. My name is Darlene Fucci; I live in Westfield with my husband of twenty two years, Tom and my fifteen year old daughter Mary. I am new to Franklin Avenue this year having worked at the now closed Moseley School for the last three years.

Teaching is actually my second career. I worked at Noble Hospital in the lab for 25 years. At some point I decided to revisit my career choice. With some serious soul searching, I realized that I enjoyed instructing college students who were training in the lab. So, off I went back to Elms College, where I had graduated twenty years before! It was going to be hard to discipline myself to do homework after so much time away from the "books." I took some education courses and I was hooked! I continued to work part-time at Noble Hospital and in five years got my Master of Arts in Teaching and a whole new way of life began for me and my family.

I am committed to doing my best job, every day. I believe that children live up to our expectations of them. Second grade is a year of transformation where children begin to accept some responsibility for learning. Reading at home is critical each and every night.

Together we will be a great team and I welcome home communication and strong cooperation. If you have any questions, comments, concerns of suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me. My email is above and you may always leave a message on the main school number.

This is a wonderful group of boys and girls! I feel privileged to be your child's teacher.
