GOALS
The following Indicators are part of Westfield's No Child Left Behind
Initiative

| 1.
Schools Provide a Drug Free Environment for Learning |
| |
- Provide
districtwide comprehensive health education
- Provide
all students with appropriate assessment, intervention and referral
services to the district's substance abuse/prevention counselors.
- Delay
the onset of tobacco, alcohol and marijuana in grades 5-7 by 2% by
the next administration of the YRBS in 2009.
- Reduce
by 2% the use of ATOD by high school students by the next administration
of the YRBS.
- Increase
parental participation in ATOD seminars.
- Provide students withthe
appropriate assessment, intervention and referral services

School Climate Encourages and Supports Learning |

- Develop
strategic planning for 100% of the city schools to prepare for crisis
intervention
- Administer consistent
discipline across the district.
- Decrease
the level of verbal and physical harassment in the secondary schools.
- Reduce the incidences
of physical fights at all school levels.
- Increase
the number of at-risk students involved in programs designed to assure
school success.
- Increase
parental involvement by 10% in programs related to effective parenting.
- Continue
improvement of school attendance by 1% at the middle and high schools.
- Develop an alternative
suspension program for students with disciplinary issues.
- Decrease the
school drop out rate.
