Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher

Dr. Kevin R. Burns is a native of Westfield, MA and received his bachelors degree in Music Education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his Masters and Doctorate in saxophone performance at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, LA. He has taught privately for over twenty years and was newly appointed to the Westfield Public Schools in 2004. Dr. Burns teaches instrumental group music lessons in saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, and percussion to all interested 5th grade students throughout the Westfield Public Schools. He also directs and conducts the All City Band that marches in the Memorial Day parade and performs in a special evening concert in the Spring. Dr. Burns is also on faculty at the Brattleboro Music Center in Brattleboro, VT where he teaches saxophone and clarinet and has a private studio in Westfield. Dr. Burns performs frequently as a freelance musician with groups ranging from the Springfield Symphony Orchestra to the rock band Flashback and as a solo keyboardist and vocalist. In his leisure time, Dr. Burns likes to hike, snowshoe, cook, and channel surf.
